Skull-Face Hawk Moth, Sterling Silver, and Chrysocolla Pendant Necklace was handcrafted from sterling sheet metal, fine and sterling silver wire, fine silver tubing, solid-pressed molten sterling scrap silver, and patterned sterling gallery wire. This exceptional one-of-a-kind necklace measures 1 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ (without the flared sterling tube). The pin-set solid silver hawk moth is highlighted above the silver base via silver tube risers. The twisted silver wire bail sets off a flared sterling tube that adds dimension and movement to the pendant. Comes with an 18″ rubber choker.
Traditionally, the hawk moth symbolizes transformation, transition, and life-changing decisions in spiritual matters. It also serves as a reminder to stay focused and to adapt to any changes that can come your way.
Spiritually, the Hawk Moth represents resilience and determination as it thrives in the darkness and still finds its way to the light. Its unique ability to hover and fly backward symbolizes adaptability and flexibility in life.
The moth, generally, is associated with psychic abilities, intuition, and attraction toward spiritual enlightenment or ‘light’. However, the Hawk Moth’s distinct characteristics further emphasize resilience, courage, and the power of transformation.
The Death’s Head Moth in particular, is the rebel of the moth world. Strikingly large, with a skull-like marking on its thorax and the ability to squeak when alarmed, the moth was traditionally seen as an omen of death.
