The sample set used to have four items and now it has five!
Directions: Thoroughly mix Mason pigment powder on a glass or tile surface with water, KlyrFire, or oil (like clove or lavender oil) to create a paint to paint onto an enameled surface. Mason Stains are NOT an enamel, but they can be used to enhance enamel products. Mason Stains are unleaded pigment that contain no glass. So you might have an enameled base (like 1030) and paint prepared Mason Stains on the base enamel and fire it at around 1450 degrees, then fire a top coat of a clear transparent like 2020 Clear Transparent. If you add Painting Flux to the Mason Stains when mixing, then no top coat is needed. Painting Flux is finely ground clear transparent enamel powder.
Each jar contains 1 teaspoon of a pure mason stain powdered color which will last the average enamellist a long time!
Mix with a small amount of water, gum agar, or KlyrFire. Even a pump hairspray will do!
Also available is a Mason Stains Set #1 and Mason Stains Set #2.
