Instructor ~ Mi-Sook Hur
This workshop focuses on drawing and painting in vitreous enamel. The images are borrowed from geometric and organic patterned fabric designs. Students will bring photographs of their favorite dresses or/and silk scarves with the patterns. We will refresh them using underglaze pencils, overglaze china paints and pen & ink. Students will practice rendering, drawing, mixing colors, making marks, and adding details on enameled copper.
What's the Catch?
Instructor ~ Robert Lopez
Complete TWO projects - a cuff and a ring - in three days!
"What's the Catch?" workshop will cover heat treating titanium to obtain an attractive and durable crystalline structure. The heat treatment can achieve vibrant colors including gold, magenta, purples and blues. We will also roller print a pattern on the titanium to give it more texture.
"Frenzied Filigree Ring" has been one of Robert's favorite ring designs over the years. The shank will be constructed in a very unconventional manner by fusing multiple gauges of wires several times and making a sheet.
Instructor ~ Karen Cohen, Play Date for Enamelists
Come join us for a three day play date with some off-the-beaten-path ways to enamel and what to enamel on! We will go over at least three techniques: metal prep with Foldforming (basics plus a Fold and Score star), enameling with High Fire Webbing Design (a step above pull-through with multiple bases), and a new Add-On - MUD (a material developed for fused glass).
