Saturday & Sunday, June 11 – 12, 2022

$145 for the two-day class
Kit Fee – $20 payable in class
We will go to dinner with April on Saturday evening. Restaurant to be determined.
Add Mason Stains to your enameling vocabulary with this 2 day class! The first day you will learn the characteristics of mason stains and how to properly use them. Students will make 3 sample squares using different application methods. The second day you will combine the application techniques of your choice to create a more involved piece. You will come away with a working knowledge of how to use mason stains in your own enamels.
Students will learn:
1. How to properly sift and fire 80 mesh enamel on copper to create a base coat with counter enamel on the back.
2. The properties of mason stains, what they are and how to use them in enameling.
3. Four ways to apply the mason stains to the enamel, how to fire them, and clean-up.
4. How to combine application methods to enhance enamel pieces.
Some enameling experience is helpful as this will be a fast-paced class.
The $20 kit fee includes:
Three 2″ x 2″ sheets of whiteboard
One 2″ x 2″ Copper sheet
Enamels and Mason Stains to try and share
Use of kiln and enameling supplies/equipment
A small round-tipped brush
X-acto knives to shareCrow Quill Pens to share
Sponge dabbing tools to share
You may want to bring the last three items for your own personal use.
